I guess you know that this is standard behaviour--unless you use the call
that forces the res manager to write to disk.  Unfortunately, I can
remember right now which one it is (something like WriteResource).  I can
also assume that you're locking your handle, since you're a more
experienced programmer than I, unless you've had a momentary lapse of
reason.

Congratulations on discovering the bowels of the memory manager.
