Actually, the extension enables your L2 backside cache, which makes a hell
of a lot of difference.

A Newer upgrade (without the extension loaded), all you have available is
the L1 cache, probably a measly 64K on the CPU.

With a Newer upgrade, you now MUST ALWAYS have the MAXpower Exension loaded,
or you'll have lousy performance.

Makes it worth it though, as these upgrades make your machine into a speed
demon worthy of FB^3.
