They are yours to use however you like. On the other hand, if you write an FB app that creates GIF images or uses LZW compression-- and/or possibly decompression-- technology, you have a licensing issue. In that case, it's attorney time. This is one of those topics that's turning into folklore, kinda like cutting off your mattress tag will land you in the pen. BTW, a friend of a friend heard about a good deal on surplus $50 WWII Jeeps still packed in cosmoline... To archaic? Let's start a new one: Is there really a warehouse in New Jersey filled with surplus Desert Storm-era Hummers still in the crate complete with machine-gun mountings going for $150 each in lots of five?
