>A VB3 application can run on a 1985 vintage 286 with > Windows 3.0, the Mac product won't run on System 6. This may be true, but it's also a ridiculous comparison -- VB3 is an ancient product, no longer being sold and barely supported. I could just as well say that VisiCalc runs fine on my TRS-80 Model I, but FB2 won't run on my 512k Mac. Today's software is VB5 and FB2. Very different products, but a more realistic comparison. And by the way, VB5 includes alignment tools. What it doesn't include is a smart editor that aligns IF/THEN/ELSE structures for you. I write on both platforms but start everything on the Mac because it's easier for me. And don't get me started about pop-up menus... Windows just doesn't have them, so I had to write my own... And my .02 says this discussion just _barely_ pertains to FutureBasic -- and perhaps it should be taken elsewhere? -- John === John McKernon Software === === 148 W. 23rd Street #5D === === New York, NY 10011 === -------------------------------- == (212) 627-1297 Voice & Fax == == john@... == == http://www.mckernon.com ==
