sorry, i wasn't talking about a specific function, just the fact the fact of
being able to declare and set variables at the same time.

fb needs to keep a delicate balance between heavy typing [pascal?] and loose
typing [javascript?]. while no solution will satisfy everyone, the new
extensions like containers, as well as the tools that ken [and friends] are
working on, do provide flexibility.

ken's way of proposing a set of 'self-contained' functions that can be
dropped into a project seems to be an interesting approach.

i would disagree. it is more complex that fbII, but in most cases that
complexity is progressive and mastered, thus allowing that it doesn't become
complicated. fb^3 might be in need of a lantern to light the complexity, not
everyone can take the time that alain does pouring through the docs, code,
samples to provide the necessary sense.

there is still room [note to all those writers out there] for books on fb,
that do not just enumerate the possibilities, but that sense and direction
to ones searchings.
