You'd better tell my iMac running System 8.6 this because it thinks 
FBSndChannelStatus works.  :)  I use them extensively in my FB^2 commercial 
application, just tested them to make sure they work, and have had no 
complaints about crashes (at least from this).  

Are you sure about this ... at least where FB^2 is concerned?
