After mentioning the 'alrx'/'dlgx' resources that help making alerts and other dialogs appearance compliant and, if desired, moveable... ...Jamin added: I think window frame/window hilite colour is WDEF specific (The WDEF must apply it - like the old System 7 WDEF with coloured racing stripes) Text colour /font/etc is done with 'ictb' resources. **** I should like to comment on the latter that with Appearance 'ictb' resources are outdated and no longer recommended by Apple. Please be aware that, since Appearance, we are left with a single type of dialog item, namely controls. And for controls we are asked to use 'dftb' resources instead of 'ictb' resources (they are constructed similarly and there is no ResEdit template for them as well :-( !). Presently, however, the old dialog items and 'ictb' resources still work well. According to Apple the rather new 'alrx'/'dlgx'and 'dftb' resources are again already on the "not recommended for new developments"-list, because Apple wishes to get rid of resources as soon as possible. I think that's why it is so important to soon get FB-access to the new and hopefully long living techniques such as NIB. Thank you Robert Purves and David Cottrell for your efforts.
