p.s.  gotta be cross-platform, so it's gotta be ascii...
and we have to have a way to map styling info onto it...
(but hey, surely an ascii equivalent of the styl resource could be
created that p.c.-side routines could easily read and implement.)
oh, and what might those "location/offset/mapping array(s)" be?
(and where would you look in "give" to see what they might look like?)
