Virtual memory can do some strange things. Like erasing fields
in an app when you click in the edit field (this happened to
my app so I turned Virtual mem off - app worked perfectly).
Perhaps it could also interfere with the way your application
handles memory. Try turning it off if you have the original
PowerBook settings which uses this. Another posssibility
would be to check the app with/without RAM Doubler if you use it.
When programming I don't run any program that plays
around with memory.

If this helps, I don't know the permanent solution to what
Virtual memory does to some apps IS - except to complain to Apple
and to be careful about using it.
