Well, I am not laughing, but I got a Umax 240 MHZ 603ev for $699 new, hope
you didn't pay too much for the 7200. Then again, I would trust an Apple
more I think. I had some RAM problems for a while that now seem to be
ironed out. Now decked out at 96 MB.

However on the issue of Speed Doubler, the Umax came with it, and when I
have it turned off, I long for it again. It really _does_ seem to speed up
basic operations and other things. I haven't left it off enough to see what
all is affected for sure. Only turn it off for conflict testing.

I haven't loaded FB onto the new machine yet, so can't compare compile
speeds increasing due to the faster CPU vs. the same with Speed Doubler.
But I would recommend Speed Doubler. I also got a Umax, same CPU and speed
for my girlfriend, and hers feels a lot slower than mine, because she
doesn't have Speed Doubler on it. But then again, some of that may be due
to her running system 7.6.1. I am using 8.1
