I'm seeing the same behavior.  I wonder if it is related to the fact
that Jonathan's date field is always in French?  For example, I see this
on the header of one of Jonathan's messages:

Lun, 31 Ao 98

which means "Mon, 31 Aug. 1998," when you translate it to English. 
Netscape then posts this date as "12/31/69" in my mailbox.  Possibly our
mail software is just too stupid to understand foreign languages.
