PROGRAMMER WANTED Years ago, I created an educational board game called THE METABOLISM GAME designed to help students learn basic principals of cellular metabolism. This game was marketed for about 15 years by Carolina Biological Supply Co. but is no longer sold by that company. I hold the copyright to the game. I have long planned to develop a computer version of the game and, in fact, have begun doing so with Program Generator and FutureBasic. I've designed a game board and have it displayed nicely in a PG scrollable window. I've also designed cards for the game. My rudimentary programming skills and demands on my time make it likely that I will never complete the project on my own. Consequently, I am seeking a programmer to work with me on it. A knowledge of basic concepts of intermediary metabolism is desirable, but not essential. Programming skills are much more important. When or if the game is completed, I would like to transfer the marketing rights to a company that specializes in educational software. I am willing to negotiate the payment for the job. I would like to arrange a plan whereby the programmer shares in the royalties. Perhaps this could be entered into as a part time job or a recreation (Staz' suggestion) until the project is well along; then we can get serious about it. There is no guarantee that the game will ever be marketed. However, the board version of the game was somewhat successful. Interested persons may reply to me or, if you prefer, to this mailing list.
