I guess we are working on a similar thing.

A couple of weeks ago I registered 'FutureBASIC webring' with
http://www.webring.org/ to establish a 'real' webring (multiple websites
connected, planned links, random links, etc.)

As I came accross http://www.xoom.com/, a webcommunity similar to geocities
(as far as I understand), but without the 'commercial breaks', I thought
about establishing a 'main FB-webring site' there (as neccessary for a
registration with webring.org).

With an account at xoom, we could share the duties of maintaining the site,
as it is not a personal site of someone. This site would only provide links
to sites of FutureBASIC-webring-members, so everyone willing to contribute
(ideas, thoughts, pictures, sourcecode, other FB-related-stuff) could do so
on his own website and link it to the webring via webring.org.

Any thoughts?
