Quite right! The irony is that iMacs have the same physical CD ROM drive as
the PowerBook with hot swappable bays. So, in theory, if the PowerBook can
hot swap between CD ROM drives or floppy drives (or hard disks, batteries,
etc) it would have made sense to make the CD ROM drive hot swappable and let
users choose to pay extra for the floppy drive if needed. Much cleaner
solution than a cluttering your desktop with other peripherals and cables!
