I've written a few programs in the past that accepted text files generated
by other programs.  Now I find the programs halting with the error message:

"The document named was not created with (my program's name).  To open
select an alternative program."

For some reason the program is now apparently checking the Creator item in
the file I wish to read.

Can anyone suggest why this occurs?
